Man arrested after 50-year-old assaulted outside Cleethorpes pub

A man is in police custody this evening after police were called the Swashbuckle Pub in Cleethorpes today, Sunday 4 February, following reports of a violent altercation in the early hours.

A section of Grant Street was taped off and officers were seen washing away a large pool of blood.

Humberside Police has now confirmed a man is in custody after they were called at around 3am to reports of an altercation between two people outside The Swashbuckler Pub in Cleethorpes, resulting in a 50-year-old being assaulted.

Officers were deployed and a man, aged 50, was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment to a head injury, which is not believed to be serious at this time.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “We would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage, that may assist with our enquires, to call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 72 of 4 February. Alternatively you can report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
