Humberside Police have announced plans for a near-maximum increase of their share of the council tax bill.
Humberside’s Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison has proposed a £12.99 rise, stating that it will “ensure the best achievable position for our communities”. The increase is just a penny under the legal cap.
The update comes after North East Lincolnshire Council and Lincolnshire County Council also proposed increases in a time where many households are struggling to afford basic necessities.
The decision is set to be discussed at the Humberside Police and Crime Panel meeting on Wednesday 7 February.
