‘Fantasy inspired’ craft and coffee shop to open in Grimsby

A new craft and coffee shop has announced plans to open in Grimsby’s Regent Shopping Arcade this summer.

The Mean Bean, which is set to open in July, will be bringing a unique ‘fantasy inspired’ space for crafters, book-lovers and coffee lovers to enjoy.

Speaking to Gi Grimsby News, cafe owner Jolene Wilson explained the inspiration behind the new business.

She said: “I’ve always been a crafter, And love getting creative. I was a welder and after an illness I decided to pursue a crafting business, mainly crochet. But I did this mainly online and struggled.

“I had a thought that maybe other crafters have this problem so I got to work. I planned a shop where crafters like myself can sell their own art.

“I’m a big nerd so I just had to make it fantasy inspired! Imagine finding a little cozy shop filled with beautiful items, and on top of that we have coffee!“

The Mean Bean will open in Regent Shopping Arcade, just off Bethlehem Street, on Monday 29 July.
