RAF aircraft crashes in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire Police have announced that an aircraft crashed in Coningsby, Lincolnshire, around 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Police and emergency services attended the incident following reports at 1:20 p.m. that an aircraft had crashed in a field along Langrick Road in Coningsby. 

The force said in a statement, “It is believed to be a single-occupant aircraft, and nobody else is thought to be involved.”

They added, “We can confirm the location of the aircraft crash as a field on Langrick Road in Conginsby.” 

Furthermore, the aircraft involved is thought to be an RAF aircraft. 

The RAF said in a statement, “We are aware of an incident in the vicinity of RAF Coningsby involving an RAF aircraft. 

“We are working with the emergency services and supporting those involved.”

The RAF also appeals for individuals who may have information or evidence surrounding the incident to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident 221.
