A review of procedures at a school in Immingham is in place following a pocket knife being confiscated.

It is understood an incident took place at a primary school in Immingham, last Tuesday, according to officials.

Concerns had been raised about the incident at Eastfield Primary Academy, from parents.

However, according to a spokesperson, the incident was ‘quickly dealt with by staff’. Humberside Police also confirmed the details, including that the pocket knife had been confiscated by teachers.

Additionally, a force spokesperson said officers from the neighbourhood policing team were ‘working closely with the school.’

In a statement to the BBC, chief executive Darren Holmes said:

“While no-one was harmed in this isolated incident, the academy and trust have initiated a review of procedures.

“Eastfield Academy and the Enquire Learning Trust have very robust and effective safeguarding procedures in place, and the safety of children, staff and families is our highest priority.”
