Person airlifted to hospital after ‘attack’ in Grimsby

A person has been taken to Hull Royal Infirmary via air ambulance this evening, Saturday 15 June, following reports of a violent altercation near Sixhills Street in Grimsby.

According to witness reports, a group of men are said to have ‘attacked’ another man with a weapon resulting in what are thought to be serious injuries. Sixhills Street is closed between Heneage Road and Thomas Street while emergency services deal with the incident.

Detectives have been seen removing evidence from the location.

The same air ambulance was seen landing at Sidney Park in Cleethorpes around an hour before moving to the B&Q car park on Peaks Parkway, but the two incidents are not thought to be related.

Humberside Police have been contacted for a statement – updates to follow.
