Armed police launch manhunt after ‘attack’ in Grimsby

A manhunt is underway tonight, Saturday 15 June, following reports a violent altercation in Grimsby earlier this evening.

Police were called to Sixhills Street after a group of men were alleged to have ‘attacked’ another person with a weapon, resulting in what are thought to be serious injuries. One person was airlifted to hospital.

Police subsequently launched a search for those responsible in the Wellington Street area. Armed police and a dog section were seen surrounding a property on the street.

Several occupants were detained and later released, while neighbouring residents were instructed to stay inside their homes.

The road was closed for some time while emergency services conducted their search. Officers left a while later, with the suspects allegedly still at large.

Updates to follow.
