With the celebrations of Armed Forces Weekend drawing to a close, celebration is being redirected towards North East Lincolnshire Council’s street cleansing team who are currently working incredibly hard to restore the original condition of the resort town, following one of the biggest events of the year.

This morning, Sunday, 30th June, the street cleansing workers have completed their biggest clean-up operation of the year; clearing up all the litter from yesterday’s proceedings. With thousands descending upon the town, it is inevitable that some litter spews out of control of the 320 litter bins distributed around Cleethorpes.

According to a statement from North East Lincolnshire Council, “For Armed Forces Weekend, there’s been extra vehicles parked in the resort to help remove the waste, along with litter picking throughout. But bins were filling up as soon as they were emptied!

“No amount of bins can cope with the number of people in the resort, so if you are visiting the resort and a bin is full, please do help by finding another or take your rubbish home with you.”

Take a look at some of the results below.
