Annual Uniform Swap to launch next month

The organisers of North East Lincolnshire’s uniform swap are set to host their fourth event next month, Wednesday 7 August.

The idea behind the swap is to support other parents with the cost of school uniform, so that everyone can save money and ensure their children are properly clothed for the new school year. The event is open to everyone, regardless of whether they are receiving benefits or not, and no proof of income or circumstance is required.

Now that the project has entered another year it has attracted additional support, meaning organisations such as the DWP and energy advisors will also be on hand to offer support and advice.

We spoke to one of the organisers, Angel High, who explained her ambitions for the project. She said: “We want this year’s event to be bigger than ever, saving more clothing from waste, and helping more families than ever. We are all working together to help in the community!”

Anyone wishing to make use of the free services on offer can attend the event at The Grimsby Institute on Wednesday 7 August between 1-3PM.

Donations can be dropped off at Oasis Hub South The Uniform Hut, the Gingerbread Café or at Haverstoe Park Pavilion between Monday 22 July and Monday 5 August.
