A crew from Humberside Fire and Rescue were called to Blundell Avenue in Cleethorpes last night, Sunday 30 June, following a suspected arson.
Humberside Police were also called to the location shortly before 8PM.
The fire broke out at the rear of businesses on Grimsby Road, close to junction of Blundell Avenue, after a bin was set alight.
A spokesperson for Humberside Fire and Rescue has now confirmed that the blaze is believed to have been started deliberately.
They said: “We received a call at 7.49pm on 30 June to a large bin fire. Due to recent hot weather, the conditions were ideal for it to quickly spread to a tree in an alley way off Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes. Crews were quick to arrive, and swiftly put it out. The cause has been determined as deliberate ignition.”
