Huge fire breaks out at former Cleethorpes zoo

Emergency services are in attendance in Cleethorpes after a huge fire broke out at the former Jungle Zoo on Kings Road.

The location has been vacant since the business closed because of financial difficulties back in October 2022.

The fire broke out at around 11PM on Thursday 4 July, with efforts to contain it now extending into the early hours of this morning. There is currently a large emergency service presence, with at least four fire engines and four police vehicles called to the scene.

Kings Road is fully closed from the McDonald’s roundabout up to Pleasure Island. The extent of the damage to the Jungle Zoo site appears to be significant.

Updates to follow.
