Award-winning actor Thomas Turgoose is joining forces with the NSPCC and Together for Childhood to host a fundraiser at Grimsby Town Football Club’s home ground.
Thomas, who is best known for his role in This Is England, will take part in a Q&A at Blundell Park on Friday 2 August. He is expected to delve into his career, his deep-rooted love for his hometown of Grimsby, its football team, and his experiences growing up on the East Marsh.
The audience will also enjoy live music from local acts and a meal from Oliver Bros Fish Merchants of Grimsby. Proceeds of the evening will go to the NSPCC, with a portion also going to the town’s Shalom Youth Centre.
Thomas said: “I am thrilled to be part of this fantastic evening in aid of the NSPCC. Growing up as a child actor, my town was always there for me when I needed support the most.
“I look forward to sharing my story and raising much-needed funds for this incredible charity that continues to help so many children across North East Lincolnshire. I’m also thrilled that some of the proceeds will be going to Shalom Youth Centre in Grimsby, a place very close to my heart and somewhere I used to frequent a lot when I was growing up in the area.”
