A 56-year-old man has appeared at Lincoln Crown Court after threatening and attacking paramedics and ambulance staff who were providing him with treatment following a crash last July.
According to reports, officers were called to Grimsby Road in Louth following a single vehicle crash. James Rawson was put in the back of an ambulance where ambulance staff began treating his injuries. Although initially unconscious, Rawson became aggressive after receiving medical treatment. During the incident, he is said to have spat and physically assaulted two members of staff, as well as threatening others.
Rawson had initially been due to be sentenced on 12 September but arrived at court drunk. He was eventually remanded into custody the following week.
Rawson pleaded guilty to four charges of assaulting an emergency worker and a separate bail offence. The convictions are part of a long history of previous offences, including one where he assaulted an emergency worker in 2021.
Reason has been sentenced to three months in prison for last July’s attack.
