A man has been arrested after assaulting two security guards near Freshney Place yesterday morning, Friday 11 October.
Police were called at around 11:30 following reports that a man had approached two security guards in Grimsby town centre before becoming aggressive and physically assaulting them.
Witnesses on the scene described seeing three security guards detaining the man on the ground outside Freshney Place. Officers arrived shortly after and arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of assault.
Speaking to Gi Grimsby News yesterday, a Humberside Police spokesperson said: “A man remains in police custody after officers were called to reports of an assault on Victoria Street in Grimsby at around 11.30am this morning (Friday 11 October).
“It is believed a man approached two Freshney Place security guards, subsequently pushing them, and becoming aggressive.
“Security guards detained the individual until officers arrived, and a 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault.”
