Motorcyclist suffers ‘life-threatening’ injuries after Laceby Road crash

A motorcycle rider has sustained life-threatening injuries following a crash on Laceby Road yesterday evening, Friday 11 October. 

Officers were called to the three-vehicle collision at around 4:40PM. According to reports a orange motorcycle, and red and white motorcycle were travelling along Broadway towards the junction with Laceby Road, when they are believed to have collided with a grey Volkswagon that was travelling east on Laceby Road.

An air ambulance landed nearby, and the rider of the orange motorcycle was taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining life-threatening injuries.

According to Humberside Police, the rider of the red and white motorcycle is believed to have fled the scene, reportedly causing a second collision with another vehicle on Broadway. The rider is then alleged to have fled the area on foot. 

Humberside Police are now appealing for witnesses.

A spokesperson said: “Enquiries are underway to establish the exact circumstances leading up to the collision and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or saw the motorbike prior to the collision, or has CCTV or dashcam footage, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 377 of 11 October. Alternatively you can report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
