Grimsby man joins forces with community centre for food giveaway

A generous Grimsby man has teamed up with Centre4 to deliver a community food giveaway to help local people in need of support.

77-year-old Frank Sparkes is known locally as the North Wall Cleaner because of his litter-picking efforts. Recently he turned his hand to delivering supplies to pensioners to help them stay warm and fed this winter.

Frank previously told Gi Grimsby News they created care packages containing items such as gloves, blankets, hot water bottles and food items, with the aim of helping around 100 people. The team eventually gathered such a significant amount of donations that they are now able to support a far more diverse range of people in need than they had initially intended.

Frank has now joined forces with Centre4 to reach other people within the community who are in need of essential food items.

A drop-in session will take place at the community centre on Wooton Road in Grimsby from 1PM on Wednesday 30 October. The event is open to anyone in need of assistance.
