GTFC extends striker Danny Rose’s contract

Grimsby Town Football Club has announced that they are extending team captain Danny Rose’s contract by one year, keeping the striker at the team until the summer of 2026.

Rose, 30, joined the Mariners ahead of the 2023–2024 campaign and has made 55 appearances for the club so far.

He’s scored 17 goals during his time and is described by the club as ‘one of our most consistent performers last season’, as he earned the captain’s armband and scored 15 goals in 41 appearances.

After signing the new deal, Rose said, “I’m really pleased to sign a new deal, I’m enjoying my time with the club.”

“The fans have been brilliant, and so has the Gaffer and all the staff too. I just want to repay them now in performances and goals and hopefully have a successful season.”

“We’ve started well, and we want that to continue. We’ve got a great group of lads, and I think you can tell from the performances and goals on the pitch that we’re really digging in for each other.”

Head Coach David Artell added, “We’re delighted that we’ve extended his contract with us, and he’s here for another 18 months.”

“He’s the club captain, a leader, and he was our top goalscorer last season. He’s an experienced pro, and he’s really important to this football club, on and off the pitch.”
