A hotel chain has submitted a planning application for the expansion of its Cleethorpes premises.
The proposal includes demolishing the existing restaurant at the Premier Inn site on King’s Road and constructing a two-story hotel building with additional bedrooms, a restaurant, and a bar.
This development follows the company’s decision to close its Brewers Fayre locations in Grimsby and Cleethorpes last year as part of a strategy to expand its hotel portfolio.
If approved, the plans would also involve changes to the car parking area and other associated works.
It is understood that the new building would feature solar panels on the roof.
The hotel currently has 84 bedrooms. If the project is approved, the restaurant will be replaced by a two-story block adding 32 additional bedrooms.
The proposal also includes a landscaping scheme designed to support local wildlife.
