Children ‘left traumatised’ after mindless vandals smash bus window

An investigation is underway after youths smashed a window on a Stagecoach bus in Cleethorpes.

During the incident, which occurred on Sunday 16 February, a group of youths are said to have targeted several buses along the Kingsway, before smashing a window on a bus near Cleethorpes Leisure Centre. As a result, commuters on the service were left waiting for a long period to complete their journey.

One passenger told Gi Grimsby News that her young children had been left “traumatised” and afraid of using public transport as a result of the incident. Several other children and infants were on the bus at the time.

Humberside Police said they are conducting lines of enquiry as part of an investigation.

A spokesperson for Stagecoach added: “We take anti-social behaviour affecting our buses and our passengers very seriously, and our buses are equipped with CCTV.

“We have forwarded the video of the incident to the police and continue to work with them in order to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice.”

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward.
