Two cars have been set on fire in a suspected arson attack.
Emergency services including Humberside Fire and Rescue and Humberside Police were called to Humberston Avenue at around 4.30PM yesterday, Wednesday 19 February, after they received reports of multiple vehicles on fire which had spread to a nearby property.
The road was closed for some time while the incident was dealt with.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but both cars and the front of a property were damaged. Fortunately nobody was injured.
Police have now launched an investigation.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said:
“Officers were called to reports of a suspected arson on Humberston Avenue in Grimsby at around 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 19 February).
“Emergency services were deployed, and it was discovered that two cars had reportedly been set alight outside a premises, causing damage to the vehicles and the front of the building. The fire was extinguished and thankfully nobody was injured as a result of the incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved and we would appeal to anyone with any information or anyone who was in the area at the time to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 25*23160. Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous you can report via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
