Cordon in place after ‘large barrel’ found on beach

HM Coastguard Cleethorpes is in attendance after a barrel washed up on Cleethorpes Beach.

HM Coastguard Cleethorpes were called to the location earlier today, Friday 14 March, after a member of the public discovered the large blue plastic barrel near the north wall. A section of the seafront near Wonderland has been cordoned off as a result.

Environmental specialists are expected to attend and assess the object.

Public access to the area remains restricted while the assessment is carried out.
