Beach dog ban comes into force this Friday 

Dog walkers in Cleethorpes have been issued with a reminder that the annual restrictions on which parts of the beach dogs can use comes into force this Friday. 

Under the rule, dogs are not allowed onto the beach between the Wonderland Rock Groyne and Cleethorpes Leisure Centre every year between Good Friday and 30 September. They are allowed to visit 

Those found not to be adhering to the rules can be liable to be fined up to £100. 

North East Lincolnshire Council has also issued a warning about picking up after dogs and informing visitors that they are prohibited from starting fires or BBQs on the beach. 

A spokesperson said: “Visitors and residents are reminded that our beach is a special place, with incredibly sensitive habitats for wildlife, protected by law, and it’s up to all of us to look after it. Therefore, it is prohibited to build bonfires, have barbeques on the beach, or leave any burning embers on the sand.”
