Melanie Onn, MP for Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes, has launched a petition calling for action to tackle the “simply unacceptable” noise level on the A180.
The move comes as part of a long-running campaign to improve the noise and driving experience on the road, after Melanie Onn first raised the issue in Parliament in September 2024, stating that poor rail and road connections were holding back investment in the region.
According to reports, noise levels on the A180 can reach as high as 82 decibels.
In her latest statement, Melanie Onn said the “industrial-level noise from the A180 has been ignored for too long.”
She called for “urgent action” to repair the “noisy, crumbling road” and “end the unacceptable disruption to our community.”
The petition can be found here.
