A well-known business in Grimsby’s East Marsh has undergone a remarkable transformation, becoming a vibrant and welcoming space for local families.
Formerly operating as the Uniform Hut, the building on Pasture Street is now home to a new community centre and Café Delight – hosting a variety of family-friendly facilities including a children’s soft play area, a sensory room, and a pamper room.
In a recent interview with Gi Grimsby News, joint owners Kerrie Bennett and Rebecca Muson shared how the idea for the new space came together in just six weeks—driven by feedback from local parents who longed for an affordable, family-focused venue in the area.
What began as a simple concept quickly blossomed into something much bigger.
“Parents were saying how nice it would be to have a place to just sit and let the kids play, without it costing a fortune,” the team explained. “And that’s exactly what we’ve created.”
Since its transformation, the venue has expanded to include a pamper room upstairs, a youth zone with a pool table and games, a soft play area, a calming sensory room, and a newly launched café.

The owners said the community response has exceeded expectations.
“It’s been busy, we’ve had so many kids through the door and lots of new faces, which has been lovely. It’s actually been really popular, with plenty of people just passing by and popping in,” they said.
The hub is open Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.
