A man has been arrested following the death of a woman in Louth.
Lincolnshire Police were called to a property on St Bernard’s Close at around 4PM on Thursday 1 May, after receiving reports that a woman in her 40s had died. On arrival, officers confirmed that the concerns were accurate.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, but the woman’s believed next of kin have been informed.
An investigation has been launched and, so far, a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Officers say they are “keeping an open mind about the cause and circumstances of her death.”
Police are now appealing to the public for any information that may assist with their enquiries. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area or who may have relevant footage from between midnight and 4PM on Thursday 1 May.
A spokesperson said: “We remain on scene and expect to be there for at least the next few days while we make initial enquiries, which will include speaking with local residents.“
Anyone with information is urged to contact Lincolnshire Police by calling 101 or emailing force.control@lincs.police.uk, quoting log number 282 of 1 May. Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers.
