New safety market buoys have been installed on Cleethorpes Beach as part of efforts to improve public safety.
The markets, which are coloured yellow and red, are used to highlight which areas of the water are designated for which uses.
According to Cleethorpes’ Beach Safety team, areas containing red buoys are designated for vessel and craft access to open water, however care must be taken to avoid swimmers and beach users.
Yellow buoys mark a public safe swimming zone which extends 200 metres seaward from the tide edge – vessels or crafts are not permitted to enter this zone.
A spokesperson for Cleethorpes Beach Safety said: “These zones are in place to protect swimmers, paddlers, craft users and all other beach goers. All water users are reminded to observe these guidelines and operate with caution and responsibility.
“These measures are designed to keep everyone safe and ensure our beach remains a safe and enjoyable environment for all!”
