Mum-of-two launches new children’s play centre in Grimsby

A Grimsby mum is bringing a new experience to families in the area with the launch of a new role play centre.

Earlier this year, the project was granted permission to transform a vacant unit on Gala Retail Park, just off Pasture Street. Empty since late 2023, the unit will soon reopen as a ‘mini town’ play centre, where children can explore, and learn through imaginative play.

Owner and mother-of-two Holly Fishwick told Gi Grimsby News that the idea stemmed from her own experience as a parent struggling to find varied local play options.

“We often had to travel quite far for anything different,” said Holly. “I wanted to offer something where children can use their imagination, learn through play, and where parents and grandparents can get involved too.”

Adventure Village will feature a series of themed rooms and is designed with inclusivity in mind. Holly has also announced plans to host SEN-friendly sessions, alongside seasonal events and birthday party packages.

A small café will be part of the centre, offering treats supplied by local business Blake’s Bakes.

“We would love to be a well known go-to for children’s birthday parties. We will be always upgrading and replacing the toys and features inside so we know it still appeals to returning customers,” Holly added.

Recruitment is already underway, with five new roles expected to be created.

With shop signage now installed and fit-out progressing, Adventure Village is on track to officially open before the end of May.
