A man has been arrested following a police chase in Cleethorpes on Wednesday 7 May.
Officers from the town’s Neighbourhood Policing Team were on patrol when they spotted a man wanted in connection with multiple shop thefts across North East Lincolnshire.
As officers approached, the man attempted to flee – initially on a bicycle, then on foot – prompting a pursuit through the area.
He was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. The suspect was later transported to Birchin Way for questioning.
Humberside Police said: “A male wanted for several shop theft offences in Grimsby and Cleethorpes was earlier today spotted by Cleethorpes NPT, despite the efforts to flee on cycle and foot through the streets of Cleethorpes and then thanks to the rapid response from numerous colleagues the male was detained and is now currently in our Birchin Way custody suite, great teamwork and a safer community.”
