Three people have been prosecuted for attacking emergency service workers, following investigations involving CCTV footage gathered by North East Lincolnshire Council.
The footage was submitted to Humberside Police to assist their efforts to reduce crime in the area, and resulted in individuals being found guilty of various offences, including criminal damage and assault on emergency service workers.
Outcomes included a combination of prison sentences, community orders, and fines.
One such instance saw CCTV footage used to identify a man who later pleaded guilty to common assault on an emergency worker. He was sentenced to 28 weeks in prison.
In a separate incident, another man was found guilty of one count of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, as well as two counts of common assault against emergency workers. He was given a community order requiring 80 hours of unpaid work over the course of 12 months. He was also ordered to pay £85 in legal costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
In the most recent case, a woman pleaded guilty to a range of charges including harassment without violence and assault by beating of an emergency worker.
She was sentenced to an 18-month long Community Order requiring her to attend 20 days of Rehabilitation Activity and to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.
