Volunteer crew members sought for RNLI

The RNLI has launched an appeal for volunteer crew members, and are holding an open evening.

Skegness’ RNLI branch are looking for people to join their team, in operational positions.

It is understood the station, which was opened in 1825, operates two lifeboats.

For those interested in finding out more, an open evening is being held this evening, at The Hideout Café, 6pm-9pm.

Attendees can meet the crew and find out what life is like as a volunteer for the RNLI. Posting on social media, a Skegness RNLI Spokesperson said:

“We’re currently looking for people to come and join our team of friendly, dedicated volunteer crew in Operational (this means either going to sea or helping launch our lifeboats) positions.

“If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to volunteer for the RNLI or wanted to meet our crew, now’s your chance.

“We’re holding an open evening for you to come and meet us and find out all about the things we do and how you can join us.”
