Police respond to serious incident in Grimsby

A large emergency services presence has been reported in Grimsby following a serious violent altercation this evening. 

Humberside Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Oxford Street earlier today, Friday 16 May. Officers have been observed conducting door-to-door enquiries in the area.

The road is currently closed between Stanley Street and the junction with Weelsby Street. The cordon is expected to remain in place for several hours while emergency services continue their investigation. 

Diversions have been set up to redirect traffic.

A woman is understood to have been arrested, however this is unconfirmed.

Humberside Police have been approached for a statement – updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
