A 43-year-old woman has been arrested following a stabbing in Grimsby.
Emergency services were called to Oxford Street at around 5.45PM on Friday 16 May, following reports that a woman had been attacked with a blade.
Upon arrival, officers and paramedics found that a 52-year-old woman had sustained serious lacerations to her head and ear. The altercation is said to have stemmed from an argument had taken place between two women who were known to each other, before a fight ensued.
The woman was taken to hospital – her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The road was closed for several hours while investigations took place, and a scene has since been put in place. Officers were seen searching the area, taking items away in evidence bags, and conducting door-to-door enquiries.
A 43-year-old woman was subsequently arrested at nearby property on suspicion of wounding with intent. She remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Sacha Harvey said: “A scene guard was put in place yesterday evening to allow my team to carry out initial lines of enquiry.
“Members of the public can expect to see officers in and around the area today whilst we continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. If anybody has concerns, I encourage to speak to our officers.
“I would encourage anyone with any information, concerns, or CCTV footage from around the time the incident occurred to please come and speak to us.
