Teen arrested after shop burglary

A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with a shop burglary in northern Lincolnshire.

Officers were called to a commercial premises on Jubilee Way in Scunthorpe at around 1.25AM yesterday, Tuesday 20 May, following reports that a shop window had been smashed and items had been taken from within.

The person responsible is thought to have fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. Following lines of enquiries, a 16-year-old boy was located and arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He remains in police custody and the investigation is ongoing.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “If anyone has any information in relation to this incident, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 21 of 20 May.”
