Humberside Police have issued an update following a crash that caused a HGV to overturn.
Emergency services were called to the Habrough Road roundabout at around 8AM on Wednesday 28 May, after a collision between a car and a lorry. The impact caused the HGV to tip onto its side, resulting in a spillage of approximately 200 litres of kerosene.
Humberside Fire and Rescue attended the scene to make the vehicles safe and assist with the clean-up operation, working to stem the leak and protect nearby watercourses. Crews also remained on standby to monitor the remaining fuel, which was safely decanted into a recovery vehicle.
Fortunately, nobody was injured.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A160 near the Harborough Road roundabout at around 8.00am yesterday morning (Wednesday, 28 May).
“It is reported that a car and a lorry were in collision. Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the collision.”
