Youths start fire at People’s Park bandstand

Firefighters were called to People’s Park in Grimsby after a group of youths allegedly started a deliberate fire near a bandstand.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service received the call at around 6.36PM on Thursday 5 June. Crews from Peaks Lane Fire Station arrived within four minutes to find a wheelie bin ablaze in close proximity to the structure.

Witnesses reported seeing a group of teenagers set the fire before fleeing the scene. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and left the area shortly after.

Humberside Fire and Rescue is urging anyone with information about deliberate fires to contact Fire Stoppers anonymously on 0800 169 5558.
