Sister pays heartfelt tribute to 18-year-old killed in Grimsby crash

The sister of an 18-year-old man who tragically died following a crash in Grimsby has shared a touching tribute to her “wonderful” brother.

Emergency services were called to Heneage Road at around 2.20PM on Saturday 7 June, after reports of a collision involving a blue Kawasaki motorcycle and a BMW. The motorbike rider was taken to hospital with critical injuries but sadly died a short time later.

His family have now named him as Jean-Paul Perry – known to his friends as JP.

JP’s sister, Jolene Wilson, described him as a caring and affectionate young man who always put others first.

She said: “JP was one of the most wonderful young men I know. He was never afraid to show affection – even when his mates were around. He would bend over backwards to help anyone.

“He was looking forward to taking his niece Erika out for a drink to celebrate her 18th birthday, which was just a few days before the accident.

“Even in his death, he’s still helping others by being an organ donor. At least some good will come from this horrible situation.”

Humberside Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist their investigation.

A spokesperson said: “We would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquires to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 274 of 7 June.”
