Cleethorpes primary school rated ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted

A Cleethorpes primary school has been rated “inadequate” following an Ofsted inspection.

In a recently published report, inspectors concluded that children at St Peter’s C of E Primary School, which is run by the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust and located on Cambridge Street, “do not receive an acceptable standard of education.”

The inspection found safeguarding procedures at the school to be “not effective,” highlighting multiple incidents of bullying and the use of “racist and homophobic language.”

Inspectors also raised serious concerns about support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), stating it was inconsistent and inadequate. Behavioural issues were reported to be significantly disrupting learning, leaving “staff and pupils feeling unsafe.”

Other concerns included higher than average absence rates and low staff morale.

Inspectors added that they do not believe the school nor the trust “demonstrate the capacity to make the improvements that are urgently required.”
