Wingate Road closed after collision

Wingate Road in Grimsby is closed following reports of a collision reportedly involving a pedestrian and a bus.

Emergency services, including paramedics and an air ambulance crew, were called to the incident earlier today, Wednesday 10 June. 

Police have shut the road between Hillary Way and Crossland Road as traffic officers carry out investigations at the scene. Witnesses at the location described the incident as serious, and said someone had been airlifted to hospital. 

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area. 

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “Officers are currently in attendance on Wingate Road, Grimsby following reports of a road traffic collision. A road closure is in place between Crossland Road and The Willows. Road users are advised to avoid the area at this time.”
