A man has been rescued after being found seriously injured on Cleethorpes beach.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.50PM on Saturday 14 June, after the man was discovered near the rear of the former Pleasure Island site with a leg injury and in significant pain.
HM Coastguard Cleethorpes, East Midlands Ambulance Service, and the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance all responded to the incident.
Due to the man’s location on the beach and the severity of his injury, Coastguard officers described the rescue operation as “tricky.” With fading daylight and challenging terrain, crews decided to carry the casualty across the sand to a waiting land ambulance.
The man was stabilised on scene before being transported to safety and handed over to ambulance teams for further treatment. HM Coastguard Cleethorpes stood down at approximately 10.30PM .
The man’s current condition has not been confirmed.
The incident was one of three callouts for the Cleethorpes Coastguard team that evening.
