Residents in the area surrounding Grimsby Road in Cleethorpes have been told to keep their windows and doors shut as firefighters tackle a large fire.
Emergency services were called to the property earlier today, Monday 30 June, where a blaze had broken out in the roof of a terraced house. Crews are continuing to tackle the fire over an hour later, with firefighters advising people living in the area to “keep windows and doors closed” due to the significant amount of smoke coming from the building.
A spokesperson for Humberside Fire and Rescue said: “We received a call at 10.25am this morning to a fire at a property on Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes. Firefighters arrived quickly on scene to a well-established fire in the roof of a property. Firefighters are still on scene and we have 5 fire engines and an aerial ladder platform in attendance. We advise those affected by the smoke to keep windows and doors closed, and to be mindful of a number of emergency vehicles in the area.”
A road closure remains in place.
