Grimsby Town Football Club has announced the signing of ‘exciting’ forward Jaze Kabia.
Jaze joins the Mariner’s on a two-year deal from Truro City, and the 24-year-old forward makes the move to North-East Lincolnshire after firing National League South side Truro City, to the title on the final day, in ‘one of the closest-title races of the season’, a spokesperson said.
Kabia signed for the Tinners last summer and went on to score 17 goals and notch 11 assists in 44 appearances for the Cornish club before joining up with David Artell’s Mariners.
The Irishman progressed through the ranks with Cobh Ramblers, where he made his senior debut, before moving to Dublin club Shelbourne, where he scored on his debut and helped the club to the League of Ireland First Division Title.
Kabia then moved to Scotland as a 22-year-old, where he gained Premiership experience with Livingston, making his debut against Celtic and gaining vital minutes with a number of loan moves.
On the latest recruitment, David Artell said, “We’ve got a bright, young player, who we feel has a good chance to make a big impact in league football. He was part of successful project last season, and he knows how to get promoted.
“We are hopeful he’ll score a lot of goals for us, and we are excited for him to join up with the group.”
