New play café to open in Immingham

A new play café aimed at families with young children is preparing to open its doors in Immingham.

The Kiddies Café, based on Kennedy Way, will specialise in Montessori-style play for children aged 0 to 5, alongside a café space for parents and carers.

Owner Natasha Brown said the idea came from her own experience visiting traditional soft play venues.

“Every time I’ve taken my kids to soft play, the big, loud places can be overwhelming, with older kids trying to ‘rule the roost’,” she explained. “When you’ve got a little one, you just want them to play safely and happily.”

She added that play cafés are becoming increasingly popular across the country, with several successful examples already in other towns nearby.

The new venue will also host SEND-friendly sessions, ensuring it caters to a wide range of families. Refurbishment work is currently underway, with Natasha hoping to move in within the next couple of months.

News of the café has already been met with excitement locally.

“I’ve had a brilliant response since sharing it on local parenting Facebook groups,” Natasha added. “Parents have been really supportive and offered ideas on what they’d like to see — things like good coffee and food options. People are already saying they can’t wait to come along with their young children.”

No official opening date has yet been confirmed.
