A 21-year-old man has sadly died following a two vehicle crash.
Emergency services were called to Messingham in Scunthorpe at around 9.50pm on Friday 29 August, following reports of a red Peugeot 207 and a black Jaguar F Pace colliding close to the junction of A159 High Street and Church Street.
Sadly, one of the passengers of the Peugeot was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been named by his family as Jac Sanderson.
The driver of the Peugeot, a 22-year-old man, reportedly failed a roadside breath sample and has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst over the prescribed limit.
A 23-year-old man and 21-year-old man who were also passengers in the Peugeot, and the driver of the Jaguar, a 26-year-old man, were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not thought to be serious at this time.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances around the collision, and officers would encourage anyone who witnessed the incident, has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist officers with their investigation, to please contact our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 481 of 29 August.”
