Dozens of football fans have stepped forward to support young Grimsby boy Reggie Aslin in his mission to visit all 92 league stadiums across the country.
Nine-year-old Reggie, who has a life-limiting heart condition and has undergone three open-heart surgeries as well as multiple mini-strokes, is taking on the challenge with his family.
After news of his journey went viral, almost 5,000 people responded to a Facebook post, with dozens offering him the use of their season tickets to help fulfil the mission. Fans from clubs including Norwich, Preston, Gillingham, Derby and Sunderland have already pledged their support.
With 15 grounds visited and 77 still to go, Reggie was most recently part of the 6,000-strong Grimsby Town crowd cheering their Carabao Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
Reggie’s dad, Lee, said the “love and support” from strangers had been amazing. He confirmed Reggie’s next fixture will be watching Grimsby Town take on Salford City FC at the Peninsula Stadium in October.
