A wanted man who was spotted on a moped has been arrested.
Officers from Humberside Police’s Roads Policing Unit spotted the man in the Durban Road area at around 2.35AM on Friday 26 September.
When asked to stop by officers the man is reported to have ran through red traffic lights at high speed, then subsequently abandoned the moped on Convamore Road.
In an attempt to evade arrest, the rider subsequently fled the area leading to a brief foot chase by officers, before he was detained.
The rider, a 21-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to stop, and driving whilst disqualified.
A search uncovered a knife and cannabis. He was further arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place and possession of a class B drug.
Humberside Police are now appealing for information relating to this incident.
A spokesperson said: “If anyone has information that may assist officers enquiries, please contact our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 25*135050. Alternatively, you can report information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
