Services to be held for Baby Loss Awareness Week

Remembrance services will be held in Grimsby, Hull and Scunthorpe this October as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

The events offer families a chance to reflect, light a candle, and, if they wish, have their baby’s name read out in remembrance.

Bereavement Midwife Jenna Cadden said the services are a way of remembering babies, and signalling that they will never be forgotten.

She said “Anyone who has lost a baby is welcome to come to these services. We know families cherish every moment they spent with their babies, no matter how short that time may be, and that their love for their child lasts a lifetime.“

Chaplain Jo Milns added: “The service will include a time of reflection and an opportunity to light a candle. You can also ask for your baby’s name to be read out during the service you attend.”

A remembrance service for families in and around Grimsby will be held at The Salvation Army on Duncombe Street on 12 October at 3pm.

In Scunthorpe, a service will take place at St Lawrence’s Church on Church Lane on 18 October at 2pm.
