Grimsby’s Christmas tree lights will be switched on during a festive celebration next month, the council has confirmed.
The Great Grimsby Christmas Festival will take place on Saturday 22 November 2025, across St James’ Square and Freshney Place. The event will include an outdoor Christmas market featuring local crafts, food and drink stalls, live music and entertainment on the main stage, walkabout performers, and a festive parade culminating in the Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Annual tradition will once again see Christmas trees installed in both Grimsby and Cleethorpes, bringing a touch of seasonal magic for residents and visitors alike. Last year, Grimsby hosted two trees — one in St James’ Square and another in the newly refurbished Riverhead Square — though it has not yet been confirmed whether this will be repeated this winter.
In Cleethorpes, the Christmas lights switch-on will take place on Friday, 28 November, with festivities centred around St Peter’s Church. The evening typically features live performances, music, and family-friendly entertainment, making it one of the most anticipated events of the festive season.
Further details and timings will be announced soon.
