The public has been given a new glimpse inside Grimsby’s multi-million-pound Horizon Youth Zone.
Community figures gathered to celebrate a key milestone in the project, which is set to improve opportunities for young people across North East Lincolnshire.
The event followed the removal of scaffolding from the Grade II-listed West Haven Maltings — a historic building now restored and extended with a modern sports hall and large outdoor multi-use games area.
When complete, the Youth Zone will offer state-of-the-art facilities designed to inspire, support, and empower young people aged eight to 19, or up to 25 for those with additional needs. Inside, there will be a climbing wall, music room with recording studio, performing arts and creative spaces, a maker zone with 3D printers and a kiln, plus a range of sports amenities including a 3G kick pitch, boxing gym, sports hall, and fitness suite.
