A community engagement event is being held to gather ideas and proposals for Immingham’s future.
The ‘ideas’ event follows the Government’s announcement of £20 million in funding for Habrough and Immingham over the next decade through the ‘Pride in Place Programme’. It also builds on six months of online surveys and focus groups exploring how residents of all ages envision the town’s future.
North East Lincolnshire Council (NELC) said initial feedback focused on improvements to shops, cafés and restaurants, open spaces and youth activities, access to banking and local amenities, tackling anti-social behaviour, policing, and strengthening the Town Council’s relationship with the community.
NELC is inviting residents to attend the event, which will take place at the Civic Centre on Friday, October 24, from 12pm to 6pm, to share their ideas on how the funding should be spent.
Andy Hopkins, Immingham Town Clerk, said “The Pride in Place funding is a fantastic opportunity for our Town. It is really important that people give us their ideas. Our community will have a say on how the money is spent so please come along and have your say.”
