Humberside Police have announced two community events following a major arson attack that saw five cars deliberately set alight.
The vehicles were torched in the early hours of Tuesday 14 October, forcing several families on Barmouth Drive to evacuate their homes in what residents described as a “terrifying and traumatic” ordeal.
The incident has caused significant concern among the local community. In response, police have increased patrols in the area to “provide reassurance and answer any questions or concerns.”
The local community policing team will also hold two street briefings this weekend, giving residents the chance to speak directly with officers about the incident and raise any issues.
The first briefing will take place on Saturday, from 3pm to 3.30pm on Barmouth Drive on the Willows estate. The second will be held on Sunday, from 3pm to 3.30pm outside the Co-op on Wybers.
Officers are encouraging anyone affected or with information to attend and speak to the team as investigations continue.
Detective Sergeant Jack Bradford from Humberside Police’s Criminal Investigation Department said: “If anyone has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time the incident is believed to have occurred, please speak to officers when you see them out and about or call our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 25*143738.”
